To effectively monitor and review your investigation request, you should be familiar with the stages this request will go through.
The first stage is Pending Initiation, where the investigation request has been sent to e-QIP.
Stage Two is Initiated, meaning the applicant has been initiated but has not logged into the e-QIP system yet.
Stage Three is Pending Applicant Information, meaning the applicant has logged into their e-QIP and is currently adding information to the application.
Once the applicant has added all information, the application moves to Stage Four - Pending SMO Review, which means that a Facility Security Officer, or FSO, is tasked to review the Investigation application. Watch your Task Inbox Unassigned Tasks tab for Pending SMO Review reports.
Stage Five is FSO Reviewed, which means that the Investigation application was reviewed, approved, and released to VRO for review by the Industry Process Team.
Stage Six is PSII Reviewed, where the Personnel Security Investigations for Industry team has reviewed, approved and released the investigation application.
The Seventh and final stage, Sent to ISP, indicates that the Investigation Request was validated by e-QIP and sent to the Investigation Service Provider.
The initiating SMO can cancel a request in Stages two through five. We will cover cancellation shortly.
NOTE: You can cancel a request in Stages 2-5.
